Why does Les admire Apollos when Priscilla and Aquila corrected him?
Apollos is admired because, though he was a great and magnetic speaker who knew only the Gospel of the Kingdom, he humbled himself and listened to Priscilla and Aquila, two lowly tentmakers, as they expounded the way of God more perfectly.
Les explains that Apollos knew nothing of Paul's Gospel; he only knew the Gospel of the Kingdom preached by Jesus, the twelve, and John the Baptist—repentance, baptism, and believing that Jesus was the Christ. Apollos was a great speaker and magnetic, but he was missing something. Les supposes Apollos might have wondered what these lowly tentmakers could tell him, yet Priscilla and Aquila took him aside and expounded the way of God more perfectly. Les admires Apollos because, great man that he was, he listened to them.
