Les Feldick Bible Study

how should you handle the parts of the Bible that are for the Jew versus for the Gentile?

Separate that which is for the Jew from that which is for the Gentile, without discarding the Jewish portions. Compare Scripture with Scripture, recognizing God dealt with the Jew under Law but deals with us today under Grace. Law and Grace are contrary principles that do not mix, and believers are not under Law but under Grace.

Les explains that every believer can simply get into the Book and feast on it, but most won't, often excusing themselves by saying they cannot understand it. His first premise is to separate that which is for the Jew and that which is for the Gentile. He clarifies this does not mean throwing aside that which is for the Jew; rather, compare Scripture with Scripture in the light of the fact that God dealt with the Jew under the Law, while He deals with us today under Grace. These are two totally contrary principles, and Law and Grace will not mix. Les also emphasizes that the Apostle Paul cries against legalism in any shape or form because we are not under the Law but under Grace. Then he turns to the Corinthian believers.
