What do the prison epistles say about dividing between Jew and Gentile?
The prison epistles teach that the demarcation between Jew and Gentile no longer applies. God now deals with the whole human race on one level, and every saved person enters the Body of Christ equally. In Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians there is no dividing between Jew and Gentile, and no difference, because both are brought together into one Body.
Les explains that once we get into the prison epistles and the higher or deeper church truths, we are no longer concerned with the demarcation between Jew and Gentile, because God is now dealing with the whole human race on one level. Every person who is saved comes into the Body of Christ on the same level, whether Jew or Gentile. The Jew has lost his identity so far as the church age is concerned. God's purpose now is the bringing together of Jew and Gentile into one Body, and there is no difference. Les notes that many Messianic Jews are turning away from this Pauline teaching that for the Age of Grace there is no difference. A Jew today must be saved as a sinner, as a fallen son of Adam, just like Gentiles. Some try to jump back into a former place of privilege, but it is not there. In the prison epistles of Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians, there is no dividing between Jew and Gentile, and no reference to the Old Testament.
