How long did the Lord reveal the doctrines of grace to Paul in the desert?

For three years, the Lord revealed the doctrines of grace to Paul in the desert. Scripture indicates God took him to Arabia, likely Mount Sinai, and kept him separate from the Twelve so these revelations would not be mixed with what they had already understood.

Les teaches that Paul did not confer with flesh and blood or go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before him. Instead, God took him out into Arabia, and Les thinks into Mount Sinai, alone. There, if the Scriptures are understood correctly, for three years the Lord revealed to Paul these tremendous doctrines of grace, which are found nowhere else in the Bible. This separation from the Twelve was intentional, so the revelations given to Paul would not be mixed with what Peter, James, and John had already understood. Paul did not go to a seminary in Jerusalem taught by them, nor pick up their notes and do research.

Galatians 1:17

Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

Galatians 1:18

Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.

More Questions

How did Paul receive the doctrine that appears in his letters?

Everything Paul wrote in his letters came by revelation from God, not from attending a seminary in Jerusalem taught by Peter, James and John, and not from picking up their notes or doing research.

Why did it take three years in Arabia for Paul to learn the things of grace?

It likely took the Lord three years (Les quips three and a half) at Paul's retreat in Arabia to show him all the things of grace because it took that long to get Judaism out of him.
