Why did the Corinthian believers still have so many problems and failures after being saved?

The Corinthian believers had been saved out of abject idolatry, paganism, mythology, and gross immorality, with no concept of biblical morality. Salvation did not immediately transform them into spiritual giants. Consequently, they still carried many problems, hang-ups, and failures from their former background, even though Paul teaches that all would go if the Lord came.

Les explains that this assembly of believers had been saved out of abject idolatry, paganism, mythology, and the worship of gods and goddesses. Along with that, they were grossly immoral and had no concept of what we would call biblical morality. As these people were saved out of that kind of background, they were not immediately transformed into spiritual giants. They had a lot of problems and hang-ups, and they still had a lot of failures. In spite of that, Les points out that Paul teaches clearly that if the Lord were to come, it would not only be a few of them that would be taken; they would all go. Les also notes that some teach an outcalling of only the spiritual believers, with the carnal left behind, but the emphasis here is that all would go.
