Was everything God wanted to pour out available to the problem-filled Corinthians too?
Yes. Even though the Corinthians were carnal, newly converted out of paganism, and still beset by moral hang-ups and problems, they were in grace and came behind in no gift. Every gift God was ready to give was just as available to these problem-filled Corinthians as to more spiritual believers.
Les explains that these believers had recently been converted out of paganism, still having hang-ups with immoral practices their families and generations before them had followed, so it was hard to break from the past. Yet, in spite of all their problems, they were in grace. Paul says they came behind in no gift, meaning all the gifts God was ready to give were just as available for these carnal Corinthians as for the more spiritual Philippians. Though Corinth had corrections and reproofs, everything God was ready to pour out was available to them as well as to spiritually giant type people, and they were waiting for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
