Who did God promise would come as Israel's Messiah, King, and Redeemer?

God promised that He Himself, in the person of the Son, would come as Israel's Messiah, King, and Redeemer. This promise was given to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and confirmed in the Old Testament. He was the minister to the Jews first and foremost.

Les teaches that God promised Abraham that from him would come a nation placed in a geographical land, and one day God Himself, in the person of the Son, would come as their Messiah, King, and Redeemer. This was all promised in the Old Testament. Les explains that He came unto His own, the Jews, first and foremost, to confirm the promises and covenants made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. When Israel finally rejected Him—a crescendo of rejection at the stoning of Stephen—Paul then goes to the Gentiles, so that even the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy through the promises made to the fathers.
