Does the Old Testament contain our doctrine of grace, the Body of Christ, and the Rapture?

No. Scripture says the Old Testament was not written for the doctrine of the Body of Christ. Paul states you will not find grace and salvation there, nor anything concerning the Body of Christ or the Rapture—things indicative of that Body. Yet the Old Testament remains foundational and should still be studied.

Les explains that Paul says all these Old Testament things were written not for our doctrine. You won't find grace and salvation back in the Old Testament, nor anything concerning the Body of Christ, nor anything concerning the Rapture—things indicative of the Body of Christ. But that does not mean we should not study the Old Testament. Les loves to teach Genesis, because it all had its beginnings there, providing the foundation even for what grace-age believers believe. He also notes that while the Gospel accounts were spoken to Israel under the Law, believers can see applications, so care is needed.
