Les Feldick Bible Study

What is one beauty of democracy according to Les?

One beauty of democracy is that if we don't like what's in government, we can complain, we can say what we want, and we have that kind of freedom. This freedom is a beauty of democracy. It is a freedom of expression.

Les explains that one of the beauties of democracy is that if we don't like what's in government, we can complain and say what we want, and we have that kind of freedom. He then moves into Romans 13, where Paul admonishes the believer to recognize that every central government is there by divine appointment. Les acknowledges this is hard to reconcile, but insists that even Hitler was there by God's sovereign divine appointment, and whenever America has someone in the White House that we may not be all that proud of, he is still there by God's sovereign divine appointment. Paul says every soul, saved and unsaved, should be subject to the higher powers, which refers to civil government, for there is no power but of God, and the powers that be are ordained of God.
