Is salvation based on what we do or on what Christ has done?

Salvation is not based on what we have done, but on what Christ has done on our behalf. Romans 8 calls this the great salvation and grounds it in Christ's work, not human effort. Believers are secure through Him who loved us and are made more than conquerors.

Les teaches from Romans chapter 8, which he calls the tremendous chapter of our great salvation. The point is that salvation is not based on what we have done, but on what Christ has done on our behalf. He then reads Romans 8:35-39 about nothing separating us from the love of Christ: not tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword. Though the world may treat believers as sheep for slaughter, verse 37 says in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Les says the apostle's words should be our words, and that 'persuaded' in the Greek is stronger than merely consenting to something.
