Which Gentile nations controlled Israel in modern history?

In modern history, Israel came under the control of various Gentile nations: the Moors, the Turks, and lastly Great Britain, which governed under mandate before Israel gained independence. Even afterward, Israel retained only a semblance of sovereignty and remained under the heavy hand of the U.N. and other nations.

Les explains that Israel was first brought under complete Gentile empire control with Babylon at Nebuchadnezzar's invasion, and later Rome. Coming into modern history, Les teaches, Israel was under various Gentile nations: the Moors, the Turks, and lastly Great Britain under mandate before Israel finally made her independence. Britain was in charge of the nation of Israel. Even after independence, Israel had only a semblance of sovereignty, but for the most part still was under the heavy hand of the U.N. and all the other nations. So Israel has been under Gentile control ever since 606 B.C. and will be until Christ returns at His second coming.
