What will happen to Israel when God comes back?
When God comes back, Israel will experience what Paul calls 'life from the dead.' Though dispersed among the nations and presently dead as a viable entity, the nation will come back, and God will fulfill His promises with them. This future restoration will far surpass the reconciliation already poured out on the Gentile world.
Les explains that Paul, in verse 15, is referring to Israel's future. If the reconciliation poured out on the Gentile world has been great, it is nothing compared to what will happen to Israel when God comes back and fulfills His promises with them. The result is 'life from the dead.' While Israel is out in the nations, they are dead and not a viable entity, but they are coming back. Les reminds people that no other tiny nation of only three or four million people, in an area smaller than Rhode Island, is constantly in world news. This is miraculous because they are God's people, and He is getting them ready for His soon return.
For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
