What did one line of Old Testament prophecy say about the coming Savior?

One line of Old Testament prophecy said the coming Savior would suffer and die for the sins of Israel. This was the suffering Savior theme running throughout the Old Testament, distinct from the parallel promise of a King and a glorious Kingdom over which the Son of God Himself would rule and reign.

Les explains that throughout the Old Testament there were two parallel lines of prophecy, which he calls like railroad tracks. One line was a suffering Savior who would come to suffer and die for the sins of Israel. The other line promised a King and a Kingdom, a glorious Kingdom over which the Son of God Himself would rule and reign, and Israel would be the top dog of the nation. At Christ's first coming, Israel wanted the King and the Kingdom but did not want the suffering Savior, because they would have to deal with their sin. They refused to search the Scriptures, and even when Herod asked the priests where the King of Israel was to be born, they had to dig up the Old Testament and found in Micah that He would be born in Bethlehem. They should have known, but unbelief kept them from understanding.
