Who told Jezebel what happened on Mount Carmel?
A messenger traveled from Mount Carmel across the valley to Jezreel, the second government palace, and told Jezebel what had happened. Jezebel responded by sending a message to Elijah, vowing that by the next day he would be as dead as her prophets.
Les explains that after Elijah called down fire from heaven on Mount Carmel, consuming the sacrifice and licking up the water in the trenches, Elijah demanded the killing of the 400 prophets of Baal. A messenger evidently left Mount Carmel, crossed the valley to Jezreel, the second government palace, and told Jezebel what had happened. Jezebel then sent word back to Elijah that by the next day he would be just as dead as her prophets.
