What happened to the stone the builders rejected?
Though the builders disallowed it, that stone is made the head of the corner—the chief cornerstone. Israel cast Him aside, but He will not remain rejected; the day is coming when He will take His rightful place as God's chief cornerstone for Israel and the world.
Les explains that the stone the builders disallowed is Christ, the chief cornerstone. Israel cast Him aside, and in Les's analogy the cornerstone was thrown into a vacant lot where weeds grew up and people stumbled over it. Yet that stone of stumbling will not stay covered forever; the day is coming when He will return and take His place as the chief cornerstone of God's dealing with Israel and the world. To those who believe, He is precious; to the disobedient, He is the stone made head of the corner.
Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
