Are Jews and Gentiles both under sin and in need of salvation?
Scripture teaches that Jews and Gentiles are both alike under sin and both in need of salvation. There is no difference between them; a Jew has no advantage over a Gentile, nor is he disadvantaged. Salvation is offered on the same level playing field to all, as Paul emphasizes in Romans 10.
Les explains that Romans chapter 10 deals with the Jew in this present age, and its teaching applies equally to Gentiles. A Jew today is under no different situation than a Gentile so far as God is concerned. Both are alike, all under sin, all in need of salvation, and there is no difference. A Jew does not have an advantage over the Gentile, nor is he disadvantaged; salvation is now offered on that same level playing field. Paul writes to Gentiles, and he rebuts the idea that God is through with the Jew because of their rejection of the Messiah.
