When was God's grace given to us?

God's grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began. It was not according to our works but according to His own purpose and grace, granted before creation, before Adam, positioning believers in the body of Christ.

Les explains that this grace was given in Christ Jesus before the world began, not according to works. The call is according to God's own purpose and grace. Les says this is almost unbelievable from the human element, but by faith, once a person becomes a child of God, they can look back and see they were chosen before God created Adam and already positioned in the body of Christ. This security is why Paul could say nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Les also stresses that grace is not license; it does not permit sin, but it rests on God's divine purpose that believers are called, elected, and His.

2 Timothy 1:9
