What happened to the Jews who had the Scriptures, the Word of God, and the priesthood?

They remained wrapped in unbelief and could not comprehend the truth. Though they possessed the Scriptures, the Word of God, and the priesthood, they trusted their Abrahamic genealogy instead of believing Christ. Jesus said they did not hear God's words because they were not of God.

Les explains that these Jews were relying on their genealogy—being children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Even though they had that unique opportunity, they had the Scriptures, they had the Word of God, and they had the priesthood, they were still wrapped in unbelief and could not comprehend. Jesus told them they did not believe the truth, that they were not of God, and that they did not hear God's words. They even accused Him of being a Samaritan and having a demon. Les then connects this to Romans verse 16: it is not of him that willeth; a person cannot claim to be a child of God merely because of genealogy, nationality, or race.
