Who is the Lord speaking to in Genesis 3:15?
In Genesis 3:15, the Lord is conversing with the devil. He declares that He will put enmity between the devil and the woman, and between the devil's seed and her seed. That promised seed of the woman is Christ, marking the first voicing of His promised coming after the fall.
Les explains that in Genesis 3:15 the Lord is conversing with the devil and says, "I will put enmity between thee and the woman, between thy seed and her seed." He emphasizes the word "seed," noting that Galatians tells us flat out that the seed of the woman is Christ. This is where Christ's promised coming is first voiced, right after Adam and Eve fell. God promises that the first thing He will do is set in motion the coming of the seed of the woman.
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
