Why is it blasphemy to put Jesus on the level of the other gods people imagine?

It is blasphemy because Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the Creator by whom all things in heaven and earth, visible and invisible, were created and for whom they exist. Reducing Him to the level of imagined gods denies His unique deity and creative authority. Every human will one day know Him as such.

Les teaches that God is invisible, and the Trinity, the Elohim of the Old Testament, was that invisible Godhead, its spirit. But out of that invisible Trinity stepped one person of the Godhead, and He took on flesh and became visible. Paul is talking about this God, the Son, Lord Jesus, who is the image or visible appearance of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature—before anything else ever was. By Him, by God the Son, all things were created that are in heaven and in earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; everything was created by Him and for Him. So when people have the audacity to take this person of the Godhead, God the Son, and bring Him down to the level of the various other gods of mankind's dreaming, what a blasphemy! He is the Creator, and one day every human being is going to know Him as such. The lost are going to meet Him at the great white throne, and they are not going to argue.

Colossians 1:16

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
