What did the lady say about why she kept high church ritual if it has nothing to do with salvation?

The lady said she knew high church ritual had nothing to do with her salvation, but it made her feel good that she was worshiping and served as a help to her worship. She kept it for that reason, not because she believed it contributed to her salvation.

Les recalls a dear lady he never doubted was saved and who had a beautiful testimony, yet she was tied to what is normally thought of as high church ritual. When he asked her why, she admitted it had nothing to do with her salvation, but it made her feel good that she was worshiping and was a help to her worship. Les says he can understand that feeling up to a point, but the book does not teach it. This follows his point that the Old Testament ceremonial ritual—ordinances, animal sacrifices, priestly robes, washings—was blotted out and nailed to Christ’s cross, so there was no longer any need for that ritual; mankind still finds it hard to lay aside things that appeal to the flesh.
