What advantage did the Jew have according to Romans 3?

Much in every way: the Jewish people were entrusted with the very oracles or word of God. Paul makes this plain in Romans chapter 3, showing that every word of this Book came through the nation of Israel, making it unique among religious books.

Les explains that Romans chapter 3 asks, “What advantage then hath the Jew?” and the answer is, “Much in every way, but especially or chiefly, that unto them were committed the oracles or the word of God.” He ties this to the fact that everything had to come through this one little nation, Israel. Every word of this Book came out of the nation of Israel, and all the writers of Scripture were Jews, which Paul makes plain. This is what makes this Book totally unique from any other religious Book on the planet. The Abrahamic Covenant also promised that in Abraham’s seed all the nations of the earth would be blessed.
