Is God still going to fulfill His covenant promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?
Yes. Scripture is adamant that God will return and fulfill the covenant promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jeremiah 31 declares that only if the fixed ordinances of sun, moon, and stars depart would Israel cease as a nation; God will not cast off Israel.
Les explains that those who claim Israel has nothing to do with Scripture, or that God is all through with the Jew and cast them off when they crucified their Messiah, do not know their Bible. The Scripture is adamant that He is still going to come back and fulfill the covenant promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In Jeremiah 31:35-36, the Lord, who gives the sun for a light by day and the ordinances of the moon and stars for a light by night, says that if those ordinances depart from before Him, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Him forever. If heaven above can be measured and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then God says He would cast off the seed of Israel for all they have done. But that cannot be done, so He will never cast aside Israel. Les warns, don't believe for a minute that God is through with His chosen nation Israel. The problem is that they rejected their Messiah and crucified Him, and Peter could not get them to believe in the early chapters of Acts. God raised up Saul of Tarsus, Paul, and sent him primarily to the Gentiles, while Peter went primarily to the Jew. Just as there were Gentile exceptions when God dealt with Jew, individual Jews can certainly be saved in the age of grace. Les also says you cannot let the church mix up with Israel in the tribulation, because the tribulation is primarily God dealing with the nation of Israel, not the church.
Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:
