Can I lose my salvation by committing a horrible sin?

No, a believer cannot lose salvation by committing a horrible sin. Scripture teaches that we are totally under the control and power of the sovereign God, and no one can supersede His power. Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ or the love of God.

Les explains that a believer cannot remove himself from the body of Christ by committing a horrible sin. He recalls a fellow who claimed he could cast himself out by such a sin, but Les responds that you cannot touch yourself in that position any more than someone else can. He emphasizes that we are totally under the control and power of the sovereign God, and nobody can supersede His power. Les describes the closing verses of Romans 8 as the crescendo of a great orchestra, where Paul declares that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ and the love of God, not even tribulation or distress.
