Does God being for us mean nothing bad can happen to believers?

No. God being for the believer does not mean nothing bad can happen to him. This world can still attack the believer, and Satan can transform himself into an angel of light to confuse the issues. Yet God remains in total control and is sovereign over these promises.

Les explains that Christ died, shed His divine blood, rose from the dead, and is now at the right hand of God interceding for us, watching over us, and promising, "Who can be against you? I'm for you." But Les warns, as he said in the previous program, not to ever interpret that to mean that nothing bad can happen to a believer. Don't ever get the idea that the things of this world can't attack the believer, and Satan can transform himself into an angel of light and confuse the issues. Even so, we have these promises, if we'll rest on them, that God is still in total control, He's sovereign. He then moves into verses that disturb those who feel you cannot be assured of your salvation, asking, "Who shall separate us?"
