How are sheep led to the slaughter without resisting?

Sheep are led to slaughter by a goat that leads them down the alleyways to the killing place, then slips out a side door and returns for another bunch. They go with utter silence, not a sound, and this is the analogy Paul draws of the believer.

Les explains that sheep go to the slaughter with utter silence, not a sound. He illustrates this from a meat-packing account: hogs squeal and make a commotion, but at the sheep kill there is silence. A goat leads the sheep down the alleyways up to the place where they are ready to be killed, then the goat slips out a side door and goes back to get another bunch. Les says this is the analogy Paul draws of the believer. Believers may someday come to the place where they too will go like sheep to the slaughter. They are not to scream and squeal like pigs, because that is not the way God works. Even the Lamb of God Himself, as Isaiah said, answered not a word.
