Les Feldick Bible Study

How are sheep led to the slaughter according to Les's illustration?

In the illustration, a goat leads the sheep down the alleyways to the place where they are ready to be killed, then the goat slips out a side door and returns to get another bunch. The sheep go with utter silence, not a sound.

Les explains the contrast in a Chicago meat-packing complex: hogs squeal loudly in the hog-killing area, but at the sheep kill there is utter silence. He describes how a goat leads the sheep down the alleyways up to the place where they are ready to be killed, then the goat slips out a side door and goes back to get another bunch. The sheep just go to the slaughter with utter silence. This is the analogy Paul draws of the believer, who may someday go like sheep to the slaughter rather than scream and squeal like pigs, because that is not the way God works. Even the Lamb of God Himself, as Isaiah said, answered not a word.
