Were we placed in a predetermined position by the triune God before creation?
Yes. Scripture-based teaching here says the triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—met in eternity past, agreed in determinate counsel, and placed each person in a predetermined position before anything was created. This was according to that same triune counsel, not after human decision.
Les teaches that way back in eternity past, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit came together and by a determinate agreeing of their three minds decided to create the universe, put planet earth in it, and place the human race there. They knew in foreknowledge that humanity would fall in Adam, and in that predeterminate counsel one person of the triune God would have to be a Redeemer. Then, as a small part of that whole big picture, you and I come. According to that same triune counsel, God put the finger on every one of us and said, “I have a place waiting for you.” Les explains that we are in that predetermined position put there by the counsel of the triune God before anything was ever created. The argument then arises about election, being chosen, and free will, but the context affirms the predetermined position before creation.
