Is faith in the Bible just blind faith?

No. Biblical faith is not blind faith; it is documented and grounded in the Word of God. Scripture teaches faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. By faith the elders obtained a good report, and believers take God at His Word.

Les explains that the things of God are so far beyond human comprehension that you cannot believe unless you are positive this is the Word of God. He says there is so much in Scripture to prove the validity of this Book that he does not have to doubt. Someone may call that blind faith, but he says no; his faith is documented, and that is what the Word is all about. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, and by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith, by simply taking God at His Word, believers understand that the worlds and universe were framed by the Word of God. He spoke, and it all came into being. Les notes that Paul is always dealing in the realm of the believer, and the unbeliever cannot comprehend this, but believers can. Creation came out of nothing; the things seen were not made out of things that appear.
