Does the fetus receive blood from the mother, and where does its blood come from?

No. The fetus in the mother's womb never receives any of the mother's blood; the maternal blood never courses through the fetus. Instead, the blood comes from the father. This physiological pattern supports the necessity of the virgin birth, since Christ's blood came from His Father, God Himself.

Les teaches that the physiological makeup of the woman's reproductive system shows the fetus in the mother's womb never receives any of the mother's blood, and the blood of the mother never courses through that fetus or infant. The blood comes from the father. Therefore, Christ as the seed of the woman had to be virgin born; otherwise the blood would have come from a human father, which would have tainted His divine ability to die for the sins of the world. Les also cites cattle genetics and veterinarians at Colorado State University proving that even in cattle none of the mother cow's blood courses through the fetus, because the blood system comes from the sire. He says this is part of God's intrinsic plan preparing for the virgin birth, so Christ's blood was divine because it came from His Father, God Himself. He then anticipates questions about the RH factor.
