Why is the mark of the beast prophecy so close?
Its nearness is driven by modern technology: satellite, Telstar, and worldwide newscasts have become everyday occurrences, making a global system feasible. The prediction that every individual must have the mark to buy or sell is not yet fulfilled, but the stage is being set, so prophecy now stands right in front of us.
Les explains that people once asked how such prophecy could happen, but now satellite, Telstar, and newscasts from all points of the earth are everyday occurrences, so prophecy is believable. In the same way, the so-called mark of the beast—where every individual must have it or cannot buy and sell—is getting so close it is scary. Les stresses it is not being fulfilled per se yet; the stage is being set. Everything is coming together so the promises God made to Israel can certainly come to pass.
