What is the mark of the beast?

The mark of the beast is an 18-digit computer number, made of three sets of six digits. It is likened to the universal product code, whose outer and center bars have the value six, and could be expanded to assign every person on earth a separate number.

Les teaches that the mark of the beast is nothing more than an 18-digit computer number, described as three sets of six numbers or six digits. He connects it to the universal product code, the little bars and lines on products, especially in supermarkets. The outside left, outside right, and center bars have a value of six; other numbers may appear on boxes, but the UPC itself is not yet the full mark. He says all they have to do is expand this universal product code a couple more lines to get 18 digits, which is enough to give every human being on earth a separate number. He also warns that anyone who has taken the mark will have no opportunity for salvation and is doomed the minute he takes it, while those who have not taken it will have an opportunity at salvation as the 144,000 Jews proclaim it.
