Why did God bring Israel out of Egypt?

God brought Israel out of Egypt to bring them to Himself, to begin working with that small nation, and to prepare them for the coming of the Messiah. This was the whole purpose, fulfilling His promise to Jacob to make of him and the twelve sons a nation.

Les teaches that about 500 years after Abraham, God called Moses while Israel was multiplying in Egypt. He told Moses to go to Pharaoh and lead His people—descended from Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the twelve sons—out of Egypt. God said He would bring them to Himself, start working with this little nation, and prepare them for the coming of the Messiah. That was the whole purpose of bringing the nation out of Egypt. It also fulfilled Genesis, where God promised Jacob that in Egypt He would make of Jacob and the twelve sons a nation, which is where the Jewish nation came from.
