What is the Gospel message according to 1 Corinthians 15?

First Corinthians 15 defines the Gospel as the message that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. It is what Paul received by revelation from the ascended, glorified Lord, and by it believers are saved if they stand in it and do not believe in vain.

Les teaches that the Gospel we must believe for eternal life and entrance into God's heaven is found in 1 Corinthians 15, the first four verses. He reads Paul's declaration that this Gospel was preached, received, and is the ground on which believers stand and are saved—though conditionally, so they must understand what they believe and not believe in vain. Les explains that Paul delivered what he also received, pointing to his Damascus road experience when the ascended, glorified Lord saved him by grace and later revealed this Gospel in the desert: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. Les further notes this was pre-planned before anything was created—God would create man, man would sin and need a Savior and Redeemer—so God set everything in motion, brought about Christ's earthly ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection, and brought Him back into heaven, from which He revealed these Secrets or Mysteries, the very core being the Gospel that Christ died for our sins.
