Where is the Gospel defined in Scripture?

Scripture defines the Gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Paul writes that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation in Romans 1:16, but the actual definition is found by leaving Romans and going to 1 Corinthians 15, the first four verses.

Les explains that Romans 1:16 declares the Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation, not church membership, baptism, or a work. He then asks what the Gospel is and says we must leave Romans and go back to 1 Corinthians 15, the first four verses, stating 'here is the Gospel.' He also notes that John 3:16 by itself is not the Gospel.
