What does it mean to be spiritually minded and what does it bring?
To be spiritually minded means having experienced the new birth and being a child of God, so one minds the things of the Spirit rather than the flesh. This mindset brings life and peace—eternal life, which believers will have forever and ever.
Les teaches that the flesh is another word for the old Adamic nature, while those who are after the Spirit have experienced the new birth and are now children of God, so they mind the things of the Spirit. He contrasts this with the carnal or fleshly mind, which is death, spiritual death and eternal doom, and is enmity against God. The spiritually minded, however, receive life and peace, and that life is eternal life, which believers will have forever and ever. Les also stresses that these things are written to believers to enhance faith and give roots so they are not tossed about by every wind of doctrine, especially the end-times deception flooding the country.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
