Is it wrong for a Christian to accumulate wealth and leave an estate?

No, Scripture does not condemn a believer for working, planning, or accumulating wealth, even an estate children may inherit. Paul instructs parents to provide for their families and lay up for their children. Such accumulation is acceptable when it aligns with God’s timetable and plan for one’s life.

Les teaches that becoming a believer changes friendships and desires, but it does not mean we become so heavenly minded we are no earthly good. We still function, work, and plan; there is nothing wrong with that. He notes especially that accumulating some wealth is not wrong. Paul says it in two places: let him who has a family take care of that family, because parents should lay up for the children and children should not have to lay up for the parents. So there is nothing wrong with accumulating an estate your kids can fight over, as long as it is in God's timetable and plan for your life. Les then returns to the verse that all things are passed away and all things are become new, and moves to Romans 8:9, where believers are not in the flesh but in the Spirit if the Holy Spirit dwells in them.
