What is the secret to having the Holy Spirit live in you?
The secret is being in Christ. If a person is in Christ, then the Holy Spirit is in them. This union is not based on Christ’s earthly ministry to Israel but on the risen, exalted Christ, seated at the Father’s right hand, who seals the believer by the Spirit.
Les explains that salvation today is not based on the earthly ministry of Jesus, which was His ministry to the nation of Israel. The name “Jesus” was His name of humiliation as He went to the cross as the sin bearer. After His resurrection, He is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Christ of the work of the cross, resurrection power, and heavenly seating at the Father’s right hand. Les teaches that if we are in Christ, that is the secret, and if we are in Christ, then the Holy Spirit is in us. He calls this mind-boggling: we are in Him, and He is in us.
