Why did Christ die for all?

Christ died for all because every human being was spiritually dead. Scripture says He died for all so that those who live should not live unto themselves, but unto Him who died for them and rose again. This is the Gospel: His death for all calls believers to live for the risen Savior.

Les explains from 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 that the love of Christ constrains us, and we conclude that if one died for all—every human being—then every human being was spiritually dead. Verse 15 then says He died for all, so that those who live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him who died for them and rose again. Les points out that this is the Gospel, and it just keeps popping up. The reason Christ died for all, then, is that all were spiritually dead, and His death for them enables those who live to live unto Him who died for them and rose again.

2 Corinthians 5:15

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
