Does every believer receive the Holy Spirit?
Yes. Scripture indicates that if a person has believed the Gospel and its truth, the Holy Spirit is in them. The indwelling Holy Spirit serves as evidence of being a believer, and the presence of the Spirit confirms one is a believer. Thus every true believer receives the Holy Spirit.
Les explains that Romans 8 and Ephesians 1 teach the same truth. If you have believed the Gospel and the truth of it, then the Holy Spirit is in you. If the Holy Spirit is in you, then you are a believer. You can flip that back and forth, and both come to the same conclusion: you are in Christ, there is now no condemnation, you have been forgiven all trespasses, and you are a new creation. The indwelling Holy Spirit is evident when you are not in the flesh or under the control of Adam. Les also points to 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, where Christ died for all, so that those who live should not live unto themselves but unto Him who died for them and rose again. That is the Gospel, and it keeps popping up. The Scripture must speak for itself, not what any teacher says.
