How should we answer the objection that God unfairly blames us for Adam's sin?
We answer that objection by refusing to judge God, admitting we cannot fully explain it, and resting in His higher mind and thoughts. Adam's sin plunged the whole human race into a fallen condition, and his offspring inherited the sin nature, so God sovereignly set this in motion to bring fallen mankind to Christ.
Les explains that people often become judgmental toward God and ask how He could call them sinners because of what Adam did 6,000 years ago. He says he cannot answer that, but he knows God's mind is higher than our minds and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. This is the way God sovereignly set it all in motion. God put Adam and Eve in the garden and gave one simple responsibility: not eat of that one tree. It was merely a means of testing obedience; nothing wicked was in the fruit. Adam flunked totally and ate. A sovereign God then declared that since Adam had sinned, all his offspring would inherit that sin nature. Paul likewise says he is carnal, a son of Adam, sold under the old Adamic nature or under sin. Adam's fall plunged the whole human race into that condition, and consequently Christ had to die to bring fallen mankind back to Himself. So the objection is met by humble trust in God's sovereign higher wisdom, not by claiming we can fully explain it.
