Can obeying the law justify anyone before God?

No. Scripture declares that by the deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. The law is good and perfect, but it convicts and kills the old Adam, revealing sin rather than justifying the sinner.

Les teaches that the law is good and perfect, but it was killing and convicting the old Adam. The commandment made sin become exceedingly sinful, revealing the rebellion of old Adam rather than producing justification. Romans 3:20 declares that by the deeds of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. The law's role is to expose sin, not to justify the sinner.

Romans 3:20

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
