Who did Saul/Paul realize Jesus of Nazareth was?

Saul came to recognize that Jesus of Nazareth was the God he had thought he was worshiping. The one he had hated and tried to stamp out was not a fake or blasphemer but the true God of Abraham. He had to bring the two together.

Les explains that Saul had to recognize that the Jesus of Nazareth he was hating and trying to stamp out was the God he thought he was worshiping; he had to bring the two together. Before that, Saul thought Jesus was an imposter, a blasphemer, and a fake. He believed the best thing he could do as a servant of the true God of Abraham was to stamp out anybody connected with Jesus. In Acts 26:9 he says he thought he ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. He shut up believing Jews in prison under authority from the chief priests and put them to death for believing Jesus was the Christ.
