How does a Christian die to the law and become married to the risen Christ?

The believer dies to the law by the body of Christ—His crucifixion—being crucified in old Adam, and is delivered from the law to be married to the One raised from the dead, serving in newness of spirit and bringing forth fruit. The indwelling Holy Spirit then becomes their law.

Les explains that the believer is delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held, because old Adam was crucified with Christ. The law is the letter—the Ten Commandments—but the Holy Spirit indwells the believer and becomes their law, so they are not lawless. The Spirit never leads contrary to God's basic laws: He never tells anyone to kill, break up a home by adultery, steal, or destroy a man's character by gossiping. Being dead to the law by Christ's body, the believer is married to another, even Him who was raised from the dead, in order to serve in newness of spirit and bring forth fruit, the productive result.
