Les Feldick Bible Study

Does Les teach Christians can just go on sinning because grace is greater?

No. The teaching on free will does not mean Christians may sin freely because grace is greater; that is a false accusation. God will not let His name be dragged through the mud, and believers will not get away with it; He disciplines and may remove those who persist.

Les explains that his teaching on free will does not mean he is saying, go ahead and sin if you want to, because the grace of God is greater. He says this is a false accusation, like Paul said he was falsely accused. Les flatly rejects it: no, no, you're not going to get away with it, because God is not going to let His name be dragged through the mud of this world. God begins with discipline; if discipline won't do, He gives a good old whipping; if that doesn't do it, the believer is out of here. Les says he has seen this happen, where a believer refuses to come back and bring honor to God. He does not believe they were lost, but that God took them out so they would no longer bring reproach to His name. In verse 12, believers are told not to let old Adam reign like a king in their mortal body or obey its lusts. Verse 13 continues the choice: whether to keep old Adam under subjection and let Christ and His Spirit reign, or give old Adam free reign to reign like a king.
