Why did the Old Testament priests have to offer the same sacrifices day after day?

The priests under Judaism had to offer them day after day because those same sacrifices could never take away sins. The daily repetition demonstrated their inability to remove sin, while Christ offered one sacrifice for sins forever and sat down at the right hand of God.

Les teaches that the passage goes back again to Judaism, where every priest stood daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. That is why the same offerings had to be repeated day after day. He contrasts this with “this man,” the Christ, who after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever sat down on the right hand of God. Verse 13 says He is henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool, for by one offering He hath perfected forever them who are sanctified. Les stresses “forever”—not until we goof it, not until we drop the ball, but forever.
