How was Abraham regarded by his contemporaries?

Abraham was held in high esteem by his contemporaries; they thought the world of him. He was well spoken of and had no bad word said against him, except when he tried to pass off his wife as his sister. He was also considered a great businessman.

Les explains that Abraham was regarded highly by his contemporaries. They thought the world of him, and from what can be gathered, Abraham never had a bad word said about him except the one time he tried to pawn off his wife as his sister. He was well spoken of, and evidently a great businessman. Les compares this to Jacob, who was a rascal and a cheat until he met the Lord at Peniel; after that, no bad remark was made about Jacob. He became an exemplary saint, showing that God's choicest servants are known for good works.
