Why was Abraham the one man God chose out of an idolatrous world?
God found Abraham out of an idolatrous world because, after the Tower of Babel, the whole known human race was steeped in idolatry and mythology, yet Abraham was one man whom God knew still possessed a spark of faith or the ability to believe.
Les explains that between Noah and Abraham there were roughly 400 years, with the Tower of Babel in the middle. At Babel, under Nimrod, Satan instituted all pagan and mythological religions, so every pagan or idolatrous religion began there. By Abraham around 2000 B.C., about 200 years after Babel, the whole then-known world was saturated in idolatry and mythology. Out of that race, God found one man, Abraham, whom He knew still had a spark of faith or the ability to believe.
