Who comes first in the future, the Antichrist or Christ?
The Antichrist, described as the natural and human figure, comes first in the future, and afterward Christ, the spiritual, comes. This follows the pattern that the natural precedes the spiritual, just as Adam precedes the second man, the Lord from heaven.
Les explains that one big set of circumstances is still in the future: first will come the Antichrist, the natural and human, and then will come the Christ, the spiritual. He connects this to Paul's point that the spiritual was not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual, referring to Adam. Adam was created from the dust of the earth and is earthy; Christ did not come from the dust but is heavenly and spiritual. Scripture calls the first man of the earth, earthy, and the second man the Lord from heaven. Les also notes Israel was God's earthly people with earthly promises and no concept of dying and going to heaven, but the church age brings a great difference.
