Who has been made a fallen creature because of Adam's sin?
Every human being, beginning with Cain, has been made a fallen creature by virtue of Adam's act of rebellion. Adam, as the federal head of the whole human race, plunged everybody into condemnation, so all people are born fallen because of his disobedience.
Les explains that Adam's simple act of disobedience—eating the forbidden fruit—plunged the whole human race into condemnation. Adam served as the federal head of the human race, so every human being, beginning with Cain, has been a fallen creature by virtue of Adam's rebellion. Les notes that God did not leave it there: He brought the second man, Christ, making it possible for every degenerate son of Adam to become a regenerate son of God. This is tied to 1 Corinthians 15:45, where the first man Adam was made a living soul, and the last Adam, Christ, is a quickening spirit—life-giving. Ephesians 2:1 also speaks of being quickened, made alive.
